Re: Possible to tag TWO albums to ONE track ?
FYI MM5 expanded Custom Fields to 10, Also you can use any number of extended tags (for formats that support them) and that can be easily incorporated (for dev wikth some free time) into addon that will show that to user. [/quote] I do not care that you have extended tags that someone "with fr...

Re: Possible to tag TWO albums to ONE track ?
There is (was?) an add-on that allowed this. I no longer recall its name and the MM extension library is a poorly organized mess that makes it nearly impossible to find anything. Perhaps someone remembers its name and where to find it in the extensions. As I recall it didn't work all that well and I...

Re: Classical music?
In MM4 Classical Music and Music had fields in different order in the properties dialog (Composer and Conductor being more prominent in Classical) but that seems to no longer be the case in MM5. As someone who plays classical music, I found the classical music collection in both MM4 and MM5 to be a ...

Re: Auto-increment track #s feature doesn't work for multi-disc collections
Works just fine if you renumber each disc individually (not a major imposition as renumbering is almost instantaneous). You also need to be sure that the disc number is filled in properly for sorting by track number to work.

Re: Sync Playlists With Plex
Soundiiz and tunemymusic are two programs that facilitate the transfer of playlists between services. Whether they work with MM and/or Plex I do not know.

Re: I miss discogs and MM4 tagging- help in MM5
Discogs tagging was provided through a Third Party Addon in MediaMonkey 4 and it's developer has not updated the Addon for MediaMonkey 4. MediaMonkey 5 does have it's own build in tagger via MusicBrainz: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/WebHelp:Getting_Track_Information_from_the_Internet/5.0#Using_...

Re: Complaints about MM Gold.
You can thank (or better swear at) the inventors of the ID tagging system for the composer-as-artist-problem because they origjnally left no field for composer. As a consequence early taggers of classical albums put composer in the artist field - assuming most people were more interested in composer...

Re: Moving music files out of library
Couldn't this be done with two pretty simple steps? 1. Move files to a non-monitored location with Auto-organize. 2. Delete files from library but not from computer (one of the options of the Remove function) The files will have to be highlighted to move them and will remain highlighted after the mo...

Re: MM4 still supported?
MediaMonkey 5 seems to be focused on the player part, and less on the organization / maintenance of a large library. Except they made the player part much less useful for classical music. In MM4 you can play a whole composition with multiple parts (and hence tracks) with one click using the linked ...

Re: This Audio CD was not found in MusicBrainz
Thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded the trial and ripped the disc which couldn't be found with MM5 using MusicBrainz in both cases. dbpoweramp found it instantly along with the cover art. Based upon this single experience, dbpoweramp should save me a lot of time and frustration. Dale I don't th...

Re: This Audio CD was not found in MusicBrainz
A better way is to use ripper software such as dbpoweramp. It accesses a number of music metadata services. Usefully one of them is discogs which has a larger source of metadata than musicbrainz (which it also accesses).

Re: Importing Music to Media Monkey 5.
Auto-organize is designed to MOVE tracks from one place to another and if you move tracks from internal Drive to external drive then files will be only on external drive and once you disconnect it you can't access or play them. If you want to make copy of files to external drive so that you can mov...

Re: Auto-organise doesn't move all files
Yes - Delete empty folders is checked (but because it doesn't move the jpgs and pdfs the folder isn't empty so it doesn't delete it) Yes - I use it manually once I have finished editing the metadata Yes - all music files are moved (in the past it moved all music files and then asked if the user want...

Auto-organise doesn't move all files
My standard practice for a new album is to download/rip it to a working folder, scan it into MM, edit the tags, and then move it to a permanent folder using auto-organise. My memory is that in MM4 and in early versions of MM5 auto-organise moved both the music files and any supporting document files...
