Hi,
I'm getting some strange results in the folder list after doing a search.
Folder is one of my columns in the Column Filter. If I scroll through the list everything looks correct. If I do a search however, the same column browser lists the drive name (not the letter) and then some folders. Right click "Find more from the same..." -> Folder (Explorer) gives me an error that the folder does not exist.
Even more strangely is that other folders are also listed that do exist.
Example:
[Music]\Folder1\Various Artists\Nuggets (Explorer error - folder does not exist)
\Folder1\Soundtracks\A Star Is Born (no error - folder does exists)
Now, if I go and browse through Explorer \Folder1\, everything is there as expected. It's just [Music] which is causing the issue, but only comes up after a search.

Re: Folder List errors
Check the Location sub-node. Does it have a [Music] entry? It indicates that MediaMonkey can't locate the drive often due to a change in driveID (or the drive was removed).

Re: Folder List errors
Hi,
I'm not sure I understand as there is no subnode named "Location"
I have removed many of the subnodes (I hope I am understanding this correctly) and show:
Home
Playing
Music (this is all music, not the example I gave)
Podcasts
Playlists
Devices & Services
Folders
And then I have some named collections
Also my CD drives.
I have not removed drives. Whatever is incorrect, needs to be removed. If these strange entries do not show up when browsing the column filter, why do they show up after a search?
Thanks for the help!

Re: Folder List errors
Correction! It's under Music > Location. Sorry about that! And.... I made a further mistake. A second look shows that it is NOT related to Search.
Looking at the properties of a song, I can see that the path is wrong. The drive is concatenated with the path, and there's no colon and backslash.
So N:\music became Nmusic. Can I just delete these from the database?
Can you further explain why it's picking up the name of the drive? Why not just show these files as missing and ask if I want to either search for them or delete them from the database?

Re: Folder List errors
Missing files from existing drives will be shown as Dead Links, but if the drive is missing they won't. Those will be shown under Disconnected.
You can remove the file in MediaMonkey, but do aware that they will be removed from any Playlists in MediaMonkey they're on. You could use Locate Moved/Missing Files in the case you want to preserve Playlist/Play History for them.

Re: Folder List errors
I'm back to where I started from. I removed the files from the database and then did a rescan. The issue is still there. Some kind of truncating where my drive letter+colon+backslash is replaced by the name of the disk.
Where is this being picked up from?

Re: Folder List errors
5.0.4.2690
OK, so some more troubleshooting on my side:
Manage database > Clear Database
Rescan
All folders came up correctly. N:\folder\folder\song.mp3, etc.
Another folder: F:\folder\folder\song.mp3... perfect.
Closed MM5.
Opened MM5.
All folders changed . [Music]\folder\folder\song.mp3
Properties of song say Nfolder\folder\song.mp3
...and, it's not just the N: drive
The F:\ drive got changed as well-
[Data]\folder\folder\ with song properties changed to
Ffolder\folder\folder.....
I'm wondering if I should just uninstall and reinstall.

Re: Folder List errors
This tends to indicate driveID change in Windows. What drives are these?
Can you please try with the latest MediaMonkey 5.1 beta to see if this issue persists (you'd need to clear and rescan again)?

Re: Folder List errors
The reinstall solved the issue for me. Thank you!
