"Now Playing" Keeps Shrinking After Each Restart
"Now Playing" keeps shrinking after each restart.
I have it set to the size to display 10 tracks, but after restarting MM, it has shrunk back to only display 2 tracks.
Is there some trick to make it stick?
Edit: I think this problem may have started happening after installing the latest MonkeyRok 6.2 (06/07/2014) by trixmoto.

Re: "Now Playing" Keeps Shrinking After Each Restart
I presume you mean you're using Auto-DJ to auto-populate the Now Playing? Otherwise the Now Playing will show the same it showed on exit (unless exit didn't happen successfully).

When I right click an album and select "Play Now" it populates.
Or if I add other tracks to the list, they populate.
But the SIZE keeps shrinking the next time I open MM.
The first pic below is just after I open MM, and the second pic is after I resize it to where I want it. But the position/size won't stick after closing MM.
I am pretty sure this has happened a few years ago, and someone posted a fix, but I cannot remember what it was.
I think there might be something I have to delete. I can't remember.
Re: "Now Playing" Keeps Shrinking After Each Restart
Looks like MediaMonkey isn't closing properly on exit and thus the setting change isn't remembered. Does MediaMonkey.exe disappear from the Task Manager after exit?
As window settings are saved in the registry is MediaMonkey allowed to write changes or do you have a backup solution restoring registry settings?

Hi Lowlander.
Yes, MediaMonkey closes on exit.
As I said, I have had this issue a few years ago, and it was an easy fix, but I can't remember what it was now.

Re: "Now Playing" Keeps Shrinking After Each Restart
Any more ideas, guys?
Is Rusty around?
I know someone on this forum had a simple fix in the past.

Do you use MonkeyRok? Or some other panel addon?

Yes, I think the latest MonkeyRok update is causing it.nohitter151 wrote:Do you use MonkeyRok? Or some other panel addon?
Re: "Now Playing" Keeps Shrinking After Each Restart
Position now playing window on right side of top dock put the 3 column browser to the left side of the top dock.
this will lock in the height of the np list. It will allow for a higher one but if you show the option bar of the np list that will again limit the view area of the np list. I have this in mm 3 so it's been in mm awhile.

My question is: how to fix it?nohitter151 wrote:Ok so you answered your own question then.Stigg wrote:Yes, I think the latest MonkeyRok update is causing it.nohitter151 wrote:Do you use MonkeyRok? Or some other panel addon?
I didn't answer that, as far as I can see.
But don't worry about it.
I thought it was an easy fix in the past. I must be mistaken.
Re: "Now Playing" Keeps Shrinking After Each Restart
Yeah, that's an odd one. I've had similar things happen through the years , but nothing that ever lasted too long.
I think nohitter meant, if you think it is MonkeyRok, you can temporarily fix it by not using it for a while to see if it shows up again.
After a while, reimplement MR and if behavior continues report issue/bug to MonkeyRok.
If you checked to see if the process in the task manager is terminating naturally "after" you exit out of the interface
and it persists, something mysterious is going on.
good luck and let us know if anything changes.

Re: "Now Playing" Keeps Shrinking After Each Restart
I have had the same issue for a long time.
Check the forum every once in a while when it starts annoying me again, and came across this post.
I have tried removing MonkeyRok, moving the Now Playing to different areas to "lock in height", nothing ever works.
As soon as I move it to bottom of screen position and restart, it resets to only showing 3 rows.
I do have a lot of extensions installed, so I guess I'll try to spend a day disabling them all and adding back in one-by-one or something.
It's not a huge deal, just annoying. I don't close MM that often anyways.

Galdoran, killing your add-ons, observing, and then reinstalling one by one is a good idea.
I'm curious though, do you have a lot of uncommon add-ons?

Re: "Now Playing" Keeps Shrinking After Each Restart
You can rename the Scripts folder in the Program Files\MediaMonkey folder (to something like Scripts-off) and then start MediaMonkey to start without any scripts. If the behavior is no longer occurring it likely is an Addon causing problems.
