Failing to sync fully over wi-fi

Installed MM for Android a couple of days ago but have to sync over wi-fi as I cannot connect device to PC directly and haven't been able to for some time. I have 13500 tracks approx, on first sync 11000 came over and the rest didn't (though only 23 songs reported as errors), the second time another 2000 came over, but I'm still short of 500. Tried again and now the sync function on the Android does nothing, just hangs at the Synchronization screen, doesn't do anything. Any clues what to do next?
