Seriously, we NEED a theme/skin gallery!
Ok, seriosly, there is no doubt in my mind that we need a web galley and easy install solution for MM skins like http://customize.org/bumptop or the Firefox themes!
Edit: It a hassle/hard sorting out skins from regular threads in this part of the forum, the "official" MM skin gallery is an atrocity....

couldn't agree more, Messenger Plus! and Messenger Discovery as well as nearly every program I use that can be skinned has a database for skins.

Re: Seriously, we NEED a theme/skin gallery!
its made partly. but was never taken out of testing faze.
the only one we have to allow people to have the skins in a location is the wiki site
for monkey.
or several members have made some download sites for others to post their skins.
but the offical one has yet to be finished and removed from testing. i believe they ran in to
troubles in mm 3 that made them stop on the site and start fixing the errors in mm 3 by making
mm 4 which i seen in another thread here that it might be released in alpha testing this month or next
month so mm 4 might be finished before they finish the official skin hosting site

Re: Seriously, we NEED a theme/skin gallery!
I am a little disappointed in this wiki-skin-thingy, too.
I am not sure if there even are all of the skins, and it seems, that nobody in the wiki has set a link to the respective forum-page where you can actually download the skin. At least I am too blind to find them.
So it's not that much fun to gather and try new skins.
A sleek little gallery-page with direct download buttons would be much nicer, but maybe the wiki thing will eventually prevent us from getting too lazy

Re: Seriously, we NEED a theme/skin gallery!
the skins are not hosted on the wiki.
the skins are not hosted in the forum.
the wiki skin site just was a fast way to get screenshots and info of the skins on monkeys site, there are download links
in the skins info beside the screenshots on most of the skin's screenshots.
mine are another story all my skins are loaded at my msn public view site, which the link is loacated at the top of my skin's wiki page. you can get them from my home page too. but the wiki is just being used for a screenshot page.
they are working on a site like you suggested gizmo it is partly done as i said. but i have no idea when it will be finished.

Peke, you need a space in your post after 'example' to allow the link to work properly.Peke wrote:As I already pointed here work is in progress see my examplehttp://www.happymonkeying.com/forum/testlookof ... oposal.jpg
