remote speakers with no sound card

I was planning to use MM with remote speakers plug in on a WHS server with no sound card. I can install MM but cannot get the plug in to start (I did the /nosplash and got it to work on my XP box)
Is this due to WHS, the fact that I have no sound card on that box or something else?

So I installed a virtual sound card and the plug in is starting. However it refuses to play. Winamp seems to be ok with the same plug-in. So I may go back to it instead.

I'm not sure how compatible it is with MM, but I used the Null Output Plugin for winamp for my shoutcast server.
