icons not keeping color in multiple user skins
i posted in the beta forum but got no reply.
so here it is again.
i am not using the beta version but this might be in it as it seems to be a major issue.
when i make skins the more i make the the lighter the icons in the monkey get.
they are almost white now.? but when i change back to default skin from one of mine the icons are normal?
what is going on?
has anyone else fixed that with their skins?

Sorry, I don't entirely understand. Are the actual icons themselves getting lighter or do the just appear lighter in MM? Are you editing the icons, or just the skin? Maybe a screenshot might help.

That sounds very bizarre. I wouldn't have thought MM would change the icons (I mean, no filter or anything to change their effect) - although not being a developer I can't confirm this - so I would have thought it would be the icons themselves. Do you have an icons folder or are you allowing MM to use it's own?

it started when i did not have the icons for monkey other then in the program so i went and got the download of their icons from their server and put it in a folder for icons in the monkey's folder.
that still did not help? this seems strange to me i think it has to be something with the skinning engine? but i am not a programer either?

Well, I am a programmer, but I'm not working on MM! Maybe one day!
I cannot replicate this problem. I have only two of my own skins but I can change between them many times and the icons paint the same way every time.
As far as skinning goes, you can't edit the icons or the way they are displayed in the theme, as far as I know. This really does sound like a very strange bug. I think one of the MM team need to look at how the icons are painted to fix this problem.

need some visual help to understand it ? okay heres a really easy way.
look at the button icons on your browser's menu bar.
now say you change browser themes. the icons get a little whiter.
then you change themes again and the icons get a little more whiter.
but if you go back to the orginal theme the icons go back to normal?
it does not make sense to me?

yep that makes sense but i can not spec the icons in the skin.
not as far as i know anyway. it just seems like something is draining all the color out of them and that is what makes it strange.

It makes sense but that would be a random bug as it doesn't happen on my machine (or seemingly anyone else's). What version of MM are you using?

Then you're on the same version as me. I really have no idea. Send me one of your skins that is doing it and I'll try it on my computer. Not till Monday unfortunately as I am away for the weekend and on a mates (non-MM, silly person!) computer.
