Am I correct to assume that the script doesn't work with the g-force plugin supplied with MediaMonkey?

I just got a notification popup with a path to a gforce folder that doesn't exist.

What do I need to remove to uninstall the script?

That is why
Installation:
Download the installer it from here or manual install zip from here
Requires G-Force Plug-in available here
Control panel -> add/remove programs -> mediamonkey script-Album Art for G-Force v1.0: click remove

My MediaMonkey installation is very old, so I sometimes loose track what comes with MediaMonkey. Many things are differently configured as they uses to be different in older versions.

Thanks for the help.

I am so sorry.

I followed the instructions for the script installer very closely and tested it a lot (Installing only) to see if it was working. Inno Setup controls the uninstall based on what you input to install

I used the sample script in this post which I now realise has errors in it which caused your problem.
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4040

It is not until the next page that the problem is mentioned and even though it is resolved No One thought to change the sample supplied to reflect this issue.

If anyone else has installed this script I don't think it is fixable without unintalling and reinstalling Media Monkey.

The script itself is innocent, apart from creating a directory, it changes no values at all.

It happens. It's really upsetting as I lost all my settings, scripts and even license key. Now I know that apparently MM uninstalls itself better than it used to.

It sucks, but good that it got caught. Hopefully the code gets updated as I have some other scripts that can potentially do the same harm.

Check the "sample installer" thread and look for my posted code. I haven't had any issues with it (including uninstalling...).

Anyway, what does this script do? I thought G-Force already handled album-art displaying as supposed to?
Extensions: ExternalTools, ExtractFields, SongPreviewer, LinkedTracks, CleanImport, and some other scripts (Need Help with Addons > List of All Scripts).

I am running the free version which doesn't support album art (Not configurable at all in MM) and even in the gold/platinum you might not be able to set it as a background image.

Compare this image with the script screen shots
Image

Because I include a custom G-Force script for the display, it can be modified to any taste manually, or even from a MM options sheet later on (reading and writing the text file like a .ini).

If anyone has the full version I would be interested to know if they can reproduce something like the screen shots in the original post without the script.

Re-Released

' 06-06-08 Version 1.1
' mmip Installer
' Checked compatible for MM3, latest trial version

It should still work with MM2 but you will have to extract the files and manually copy them to the correct places and add the scripts.ini section

Don't know if the registery key is the same in Vista to check for the installation path of G-Force.

This is the Key in XP

Code: Select all

"HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\G-Force\InstallLocation"
