FWIW, I'm still having the memory leak issues with the 1.0 embedded version. Same behavior as before.

This doesn't work at all for me :(

I'm running XP SP2 as administrator. Graphics card: Nvidia Geforece 7600 GS
MonkeyFlow says 'Initializing Monkeyflow' and nothing happens.
No Cache is created
Logfile is completely empty

Any ideas?

Ok, I've tried a lot, but I need help now. I can't get this thing work.
I downloaded both versions, the standalone and embedded, but theres only this window telling me "failed to Connect to MediaMonkey". I ran it as administrator under vista, but nothing happened. Do I have to install it in some way or what?

I, too, am unable to get MonkeyFlow 1.0 to work (I am new to MediaMonkey, and thus haven't tried earlier versions).

Perhaps my (Win XP) laptop is too ancient -- my video card is an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 w/64MB RAM. Using the embedded version, the MonkeyFlow window opens up and eventually displays wireframe outlines of CD covers with a name displayed, but no cover art. winviz.exe eats up between 96-99% of my CPU cycles, holding steady at using 26MB RAM (per task manager). I end up needing to kill the process to get functionality of my computer back. Bummer.

My C:\temp directory shows two 3 and 4 KB cover art files... after running for about five minutes. With perhaps 40 current album covers, was I premature in killing winviz.exe?

Anyway, appreciate the effort to contribute to MediaMonkey!

For the people having initialization problems, please try the following:
  1. Shutdown MediaMonkey
  2. Make sure all instances of winviz.exe and MediaMonkey.exe are shutdown
  3. Download the debug build of MonkeyFlow and place it in your MediaMonkey/Scripts/Auto folder
  4. Start MediaMonkey and let the initializing screen of MonkeyFlow display for about 20 seconds
  5. Copy the contents of the monkeyflow.log file in your TEMP directory and post it here or PM it to me
Thanks

When MonkeyFlow runs for the first time it will cache all your cover art, which can take up CPU, especially on older computers. If image files are being created in your cache folder then they should be appearing in MonkeyFlow. If this is not the case, then there might be problems with your graphics driver. You can try posting the contents of monkeyflow.log in case there is something else going wrong.

Maybe you should make a short note on the first page for script-newbies like me. Where to put the files and if you have Vista, run as admin, wait and after that run as normal as ever. ;)

Thanks, great script. :)

Thanks for your reply, flashk.

I am seeing progress... but extremely slowly (but, again, I'm sure it's because of my slower laptop). Before I referenced the wrong temp directory. Now, as I've seen several albums rendered on-screen, I have seen them cached into the MonkeyFlow cache directory. In about 15 minutes, I was able to render three covers (ugh!). Here is my log file -- note, after 20 minutes and not seeing a fourth cover rendered, I shut down my laptop via the on-off button.

Awesome! I'll make it more clear on the first page. I don't know why MM doesn't register the COM server during installation, I'll try putting in a feature request about it.

I've also experienced a breakthrough. Seems like the inordinate amount of time MonkeyFlow took to render/retrieve my album art was due to my firewall software. Once I disabled Online Armour 2.1 (free version) , winviz.exe flew, and MonkeyFlow is running along nicely.

So, if anyone else is experiencing such crazy delays, see if your firewall isn't at fault. Unfortunately, this presents a problem -- looks like I won't be able to use MonkeyFlow while on-line, unless I switch firewalls...

hey all.

this is a great feature i've been using for a while now and loving.

problem i have now is odd... i reinstalled MM recently and am trying to get everything back up and running like it was. Now for some reason Monkeyflow has the album art all mixed up in about 80% of my library.

the image shown in monkeyflow is wrong but the album art show in mm itself is correct... like so....

Image

it was working perfect for me before... i have no idea what to do... any suggestions?
