Sync Metadata from/to iPhone

Hello,
I use MM for sync to iPhone. This works well so far.
For iOS devices I use iPhone 12 Pro and the iPad Pro.
However, the data such as last played or number played are not synchronized.
No matter if I play the tracks in MM or on iOS, the data is not updated in the iPhone or in MM.
Is there anything I can do to adjust this or is this a bug or not intended?
Best regards
Quant

Which build of MediaMonkey 5 (Help > About) are you using and which version of iOS on your devices and iTunes on your PC?

I'm not sure if anything changed, but you may want to try build 2419: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=86639&sd=d

At least, I'm not able to reproduce on 2419. Both Last Played and Played# were updated.

Hi,

Media Monkey updates last played and played# when played on desktop, but the metadata from iphone does not get synced.

Windows 10 21H1
MediaMonkey 2419 (as suggested)
Iphone X ios 14.6

Kind regards, chryizz

Hi,

I just tested MMW 5.0.1.2442 vs iPhone X (iOS 14.6) and was unable to replicate the problem. Play count / play history updated after playing synced tracks on the iPhone.

Maybe try updating to the latest build?

Hi,
As noted by @rusty above we have tested on various devices from iOS 6.1.5 to 9 and all over to 14.6 without issues.

Are you sure that tracks are initially synced with MM, That play counter is increased on iPhone?

thank you for the quick response.

Just to clarify:

Song A has X amount played on MM Desktop
Sync to iphone through MM Desktop
Song A is played one time on iPhone
Sync with MM Desktop
Should the amount played of Song A in MM desktop now X+1?

(Because this doesn't work on my setup)

Hi,

just a short update - the problem got solved today.

I factory reseted the iphone and updated to ios 14.7
additionally I unabled "sync library" in apple music menu on iphone

Playlists are now transferred; song played# is synced; star rating changed on iphone is transferred to Media Monkey library

No changes in Media Monkey needed
Kind regards, Chris

Update 27.07.
MediaMonkey refuses to sync #amountplayed and #lastplayed from iphone X to MM5; but does sync changes of star ratings.

iphone X doesnt work
iphone 7 does work

This is getting so frustrating - I did not change anything since it worked.

Update: One possibility is, that MM5 doesnt like an iphone with an active apple subscription. But, still - It was working two days ago. My subscription is ending soon; I will update this post afterwards.

The pound sign # is part of the Playlist name?

No, the # sign is not part of the pl name.

Alltough apple music expired and the music apps settings are now the same as on iPhone 7, Metadata does not get transferred form iPhone X to MM5 / iphone 7 running perfectly.

Update: I factory reseted the iphone X and made a fresh install of MM5 and now it's working. I don't know what changed. Happy now.
