MMA Not Detecting Playlist Updates From Other App

MMA version: Latest beta
MMW version: 4.1.30.1914
Device: Galaxy S20
I have my my laptop synced to my Galaxy S20. I use Poweramp as my main media player. All of my playlists from MMA show in a folder called "playlists" and can easily be detected in Poweramp. However, if I add a song to a playlist in Poweramp, it will not update in MMA even after refreshing the library. If I open the m3u files from that playlist folder in a text editor, I can see they do have the latest update on them from Poweramp. I have the option "Update playlists from other apps" checked in MMA. Is there a way to get MMA to detect the changes to the playlists or do I need to do something different in Poweramp to get synced playlists between the two?
