Memory leak when reading ogg files

Post by NZMonkey »

Windows XP Professional (patches up-to-date), 512MB RAM, no other applications open, ~7,000 ogg files on disk; when MediaMonkey reads the tags (and creates the database) it takes a disproportionate amount of memory (330MB!!!)

Thanks for the report, I have tested it and it really looks like there is a memory leak on ogg files scanning. We'll fix it soon.

Patch to ogg memory leak

Post by rusty »

For those of you who have many of OGG files, the following patch might be useful. It eliminates a memory leak that occurs when reading the files.

Simply download f_ogg.dll and save it to /Program Files/MediaMonkey/Plugins/f_ogg.dll (overwriting the original version of this file).

The file is located at: http://www.mediamonkey.com/sw/mm21upd/f_ogg.dll
