Media Keys don't work when out of focus

I have a CoolerMaster Storm Devastator Keyboard. I used to run Winamp and Groove Music before trying MediaMonkey, and my media keys on the keyboard used to work fine when I played games. But neither MediaMonkey nor MusicBee work when I use the media keys while playing a game. They work when I alt+tab to MM but not when the window is not in focus.

I read a few posts and tried the PreferLLKeysHook=1 under [Options} in MediaMonkey.ini but that didn't do anything. It still doesn't recognise my media keys. Any help is appreciated!
