HELP: No album art appearing on Creative Zen Vision M?

Post by bmilner »

Ok, I painstakingly added art to over 3500 files and uses MM 2.5.1.934 to transfer them over. After this multi-hour process, I was bummed to find that none of the tracks appear on the device with album art.

I re-verified the files all have art showing when played in MM. I selected that that the art be embedded in the file itself, so that's not the issue.

So my question is, which of these two things is happening?
1. The art didn't transfer
2. The art was encoded in such a way that the Vision M can't use it.

SIDE_NOTE: I saw the same problem another user did where after the sync occurs, MM appears to hang and be unresponsive for a LONG time even though it appears to be 100% done. "Synchronzing" still shows in the progress bar at bottom. I notced it was still using 20% CPU in the taskmanager so I let it sit... for 30 minutes! and finally it let go. That doesn't seem right. I only have like 3-4 playlists on the thing.

same tracks Xferred in WMP10 appear w/ no art too

Post by bmilner »

I tried to transfer a track in WMP10 to it that I added art to in MM and it too appears on the Vision M with no art. I verified that the art shows correctly in WMP10.

I'm wondering if there is a art-thumbnail size limit since MM tends to add files that are a few hunded pixels on each side. It would be beyond lame if the Vision M needs art of a special size...

Looks like a Zen Vision firmware bug. Anyway, you can e-mail me debug logs from the device (see top of this forum) and I'll try to find out more.

Logs for why Sync is taking so long on Vision M

Post by bmilner »

With a 4100 track library on the device, it appears to "hang" at 100% complete for 30 minutes or so. I ran the debug version and it appears to do the following steps over and over at the end of the sync process.

It does this at about 2-3 tracks per second, which for 4100 tracks = 30 minutes. I have an email in to their tech support to address it.
