Hi Folks,
I have a 24/88 FLAC file. My FiiO E17 DAC/AMP reports that MM is feeding it a 48/16 stream. I have the MM WASAPI pluging (v 1.1) set as the output in non-exclusive mode. I've tried with various 24/88 files, but all the same result. Any idea what's going on here? Not sure if this is MM, or a problem somewhere else in the pipeline...
Thanks!
Thinkpad T410
Win 7 x64 Pro SP1
MM 4.0.7.1511

Hi,
Try latest beta and if still happen, set exclusive mode to 24/88? How do you connect your PC to DAC?
Also can you open support ticket and generate log http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=11&t=69

Will do. I connect to the DAC via USB.
UPDATE: I sent in a debug log with the new beta version (not sure how much the log covers...). I can get 24/88 working when I set Output to exclusive mode (both manually setting 24/96 and setting Automatic per track works). I can select either the Default or FiiO devices, and it works. Just a matter of putting in exclusive mode. This seems to work both in 4.0.7.1511(thought it wasn't working before - dunno what happened) and the newest 4.1 beta.
Would be nice to get this working in non-exclusive mode also. Is that a windows issue, or something that MM can fix?
Thanks!

Hi,
This is good, as in Non exclusive mode WASAPI driver (Windows) determine output not MMW. If it works in exclusive mode than issue is not with MMW but check your windows settings of output format for your DAC.

Re: DAC says 24/88 played as 48/16
Thanks Peke. Yep, setting windows to use 24/96 works. Now, it uses 24/96 *all* the time. I guess that makes sense, as windows can't really be switching around sampling rates easily when mixing sounds from various sources, etc. Perhaps it makes more sense to pipe MM through my DAC exclusively and to pipe other audio through my comp...

Unfortunately I can't help you in your decision which ytou really need to decide what to do and what sounds the best for you.
Both have benefits and downsides.
