how to refresh id3 tags in library?

Post by starpause »

i updated the id3 tags for an mp3 in another application (mixedinkey/keyfinder). if i open the mp3 in another software (like foobar2000 or mp3tag) i see the id3 comment field is changed. but in MM, the comment field doesn't change. i've tried restarting MM but that didn't do it... how can i force the library to refresh what it has in the comment field for an mp3? TIA!

File > Add/rescan files to the library

Or enable File monitoring at File > Add/rescan
MediaMonkey user since 2006
Need help? Got a suggestion? Can't find something?

nohitter151 thanks much, that did the trick but it took a long while with my large library.

is there a way to update the metadata info for only the tracks in a particular playlist?

No, however you can scan any sub-folder you want scanned.

You can also enable Folder Monitoring in the same Add/Rescan Files dialog and have MediaMonkey running while externally modifying tags. The changes should be picked up when they're made.
