Given how long I have been on the wonderful monkey forums I should know better and also know the answer but I don't!
Hard Drive has gone kaput but I have the Monkey 3.2.1.1297 on a back up CD along with the following files.
File: MediaMonkey.mdb.~mdb
File: MediaMonkey.mdb.
File: MM.ini (the one with the two cogs in the icon)
File: MediaMonkey configuration settings (single cog icon on file)
File: M3U file - looks like a windoze music type icon
Folder: Previews
Folder: Virtual CD
That's it!
If I re-install the programme onto my laptop what would I need to do to bring it back to normal? I had thousands and thousands of cd's and mp3 files - Oh drat!
I've read the Wiki article about changing from one drive to another by using a script but I am not using another drive but a CD!
If you have any suggestions I will be forever in your debt. Yes, yes, I know I still have to get the drinks if from last time.
While you are mulling my problem over I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the loyal Monkey fans A Very Happy New Year!
I am so sad!
p.s. Don't know why I have two mdb files?

Re: Transfer Back Up Files From CD
MDB is from MediaMonkey 2, MediaMonkey 3 used MM.DB.
The drive refers to your music files location.

Re: Transfer Back Up Files From CD
Thanks Lowlander. I'd forgotten about version 2.0. I did a re-install starting with 2.0 and then to 3.0
I am so happy that it has all worked out fine. All those years of hard work and scanning hundreds and hundreds of CD's.
Many Thanks
