Type assignment is automatic (and not a tag saved in the files): https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index. ... _Rules/4.0

I'm learning by the minute. :)

Audio files are added as Type=Music except

they're added as 'Audiobook' if Extension=M4B or Genre contains 'Audiobook' or 'Audio Book'
they're added as 'Podcast' if Genre contains 'Podcast'
they're added as 'Classical Music' if Genre contains 'Classical

However:
None of the files that were correctly imported in the 'Classical Music' section had the word 'Classical' in Genre, neither did those who's 'Type' was changed to 'Music'
An example:
'Genre' : 'Concerto (Variations)' does change 'Type' to 'Music'
'Genre' : 'Opera (Overture)' does not change the 'Type' 'Classical Music'

I don't use 'Audiobook' or 'Podcast'

Hi,
Can you try to add this to Genre?

For one that change back to Music make Genre state like this: 'Concerto (Variations); Classical'

I had similar issue when my desktop MediaMonkey didn't pick up all the music files (other players and Windows did it all right). I have found that MM is sensitive to long paths in terms of quantity of letters in naming of containing folders and files. This was the case especially with the classical music, where lots of folders and files contain tons of extra info relating to singers and conductors and places and dates. After I manually chopped the longest ones and assinged the folders short and simple names it played out all right.
