With Vista I had an error message while ripping a CD (see
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =1&t=43554 ) - the error was error "Cannot delete c:\Documents and Settings \ Master.upstairs \ Local Settings \ Temp \ 3cw49.wav" Access is denied. The file may be in use or you may not have access rights.
Nohitter151 very kindly explained how to reset the temp directory as per the above thread and I was able to sort the problem with Vista.
A month on and I've now upgraded to Windows 7 and was very disappointed not only to get the old error message but also to find that Nohitter151's suggestion no longer works.
I can't believe Mediamonkey doesn't work with Windows 7 so am hoping some kind person can let me know what's needed to restore Mediamonkey to its former (working) condition.
many thanks and best regards
Kai

Re: Windows 7 error message while ripping CD
It works fine on Windows 7, and even on the downloads page Windows 7 is listed as a compatible OS, so you should be fine.kaichandler wrote:

What is listed as the temporary directory in your MM settings?

Re: Windows 7 error message while ripping CD
Hi again!
I should have added I'm using 3.1.2.1274.
For simplicity I've set the temp directory to be c:\temp and have created a directory called c:temp
Security was set to :
Authenticated users, SYSTEM, Administrators - Full Control which I assume to take away barriers to deleting files.
and I manually set Users to Full Control.
The whole thing's baffling me. I thought it'd be easier with 7!
regards
Kai

I don't know, but if you're using a beta version you should always run the latest available (currently build 1282). Also, bugs in beta versions should be reported in the beta-testing forum (along with a debug log, full reproduction steps, screenshots, etc.)Guest wrote:Hi again!

Re: Windows 7 error message while ripping CD
Ok, but that is the latest stable release. I was suggesting you update to 3.1.2.1282 (the most up-to-date beta version).Guest wrote:Good point, but I get the same error with 3.1.1.1261
