On this screenshot all titles do start with "dubious" characters by being special (not letter) characters (' " .). Add them to the "ok-list" and you will not get them in the results again.

You don't have to restart whenever you want it to scan for new. Just double click on "Tracks with" or any of the sub-content/titles (e.g. title missing parenthesis) and it will collapse/expand them and with expanding it re-scanns again.

I believe "duplicate content" is not part of this script but a main feature in MM.

terrypin notes this in the screenshot.

This is a cool feature. I too would like to see it expanded to other fields.

Yes, and can take quite a bit longer to scan than titles.
It's also part of Advanced Duplicate Find and Fix.

Thanks a bunch, duly installed, looks very handy.

It reports 1358 duplicate titles. The browser view reports 533, so that must be the number of unique titles that are duplicated. That's about 2.5 tracks per title, which looks reasonable from a visual scan.

P.S.

In the first post of the dedicated thread on this script
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... nd+and+Fix
I read:
"You find download link and installation instructions at the bottom of this post."

But the link there just opens a duplicate web page.

A quick search in Google then found it for me here:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/addons/brows ... -find-fix/

But as this happened with a couple of other scripts too, I'm curious why the specialist threads themselves don't have valid links, as that would be the obvious source? Is that going to be true for all script threads?

I looked at the first post from the link you provided and there I found this:
Bex wrote:Download:

MM4 (Installer)
Download the script from its Addon Page. Please also rate the script, especially if you like it! :)

MM3 (Installer)
Advanced Duplicate Find & Fix 3.7.4
Both links took me to a page to download the file (one being the same your google search brought up) so in this case the link was in the first post of the topic just as stated.
With other scripts it's totally dependent on the author how much they keep their thread up to date. Who knows maybe there's also a thread about this being an issue somewhere else in the forum I don't think we should discuss it any further in this thread.
Thanks for the link to the other topic though. Looks pretty handy will definitely try it.
Greetings, Luna

That's odd, I couldn't/can't see it. Where exactly is the link on that page I referenced that downloads the script?

Multiple Dates

It seems odd that the last two would be included as they are typically a given for most files.
It seems we're all guessing - not good! Hopefully the author will be along to define the criteria and explain what is inconsistent with what.
No word from the author, Bex, yet. But as I'd like to edit the reported 790 tracks in 146 albums I've been taking a closer look. Still guessing but maybe it's connected with tracks with unknown albums? Many of the 301 in this collection are getting included. Yet I can see no 'multiple dates'. Which is also true of every entry, although of course I still don't know what i'm looking for!

The only date that appears in the bulk of my library is 'Date' which I use flexibly. I've always put the original date there. Original Date is currently unused, as there's no way I want to sort on two date columns. I suppose I should swap those two, but can't work up the motivation.

In two days it'll be two months since Bex's last visit. I wouldn't hold your breath, waiting. Also, this is one of those scripts with a ton
of features, many of which go unused or the few that use them aren't forum hounds like some of us. So, it could be a while.

I pretty much only use the "date" myself. I'll use original date if there is something interesting about the track in that regard.
Anyway, currently, I'm still trying to finish, what I call, phase one of the final restructuring of my audio collection.
I'm not really focused on tag inconsistencies right now. I'm mainly working with my folders and waiting for a reply in
RegExp F&R. But if I happen to notice anything or a light turns on in my head in that regard, I'll give a shout out!

UNORGANIZED FILES

Files to Edit > Tagging Inconsistencies

What is the definition of these please? Here, every single track in the collection is shown!

[Third attempt to reply. Was getting black-listed as a known spammer - see my post in Help forum! :-? ]

Yep (but aren't all files in folders?).

Anyway, sorted it myself thanks. It's apparently related to Tools > Options > Library > Auto-Organize. I don't have that enabled.

Usually, yes. But one could have a bunch loose just below the drive letter.

I can't find the inconsistency here:

Edit, a minute later: Oh yes I can, one's a JPEG instead of JPG.
