MediaMonkey get OGG-Tags wrong

Post by NewUser »

Hello,

i am new to MediaMonkey and have a problem with ogg-files.

MediaMonkey gets most of the tags wrong.
The artist and album tags are a mismatch of different tags.

Here is an example:
MediaMonkey:
Artist = 2003 Geräusch; Album = CD 1

WinAmp:
Artist = Die Ärzte; Album = Geräusch - CD 1

I used the newest ogg-encoder with the newest version of ExactAudioCopy to rip the cd. As you can see WinAmp is able to display the right tags.

Can anybody help me?
Thanks in advance.

I would think that your ogg files don't actually have tags, but only MM and WinAmp both try to guess the metadata by looking at the filename - this would explain the difference in the values. You can check the file with some editor in order to see whether there is something like 'ARTIST=...', 'ALBUM=...'.

In case you would really think there's something wrong in MM, you can send me some smaller file that isn't properly parsed.
