Command-line /Play Parameter Does Not Honor Settings [#20574]

Post by Dryst »

Click Windows Key + R, enter the following in the Open input:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\MediaMonkey 5\MediaMonkey.exe" /Play

MMW5 will start, ignore all configured audio output settings, and start playback using the default Windows audio device.

Hi,
testing it now with the latest build 5.1.0.2832 and it works fine and does respect the audio output settings.

Be it:
Options > Player > Streaming > Play to
or
Options > Player > Audio Output (plug-ins)

Which build did you test? And which settings isn't honored for you?

Version 5.0.263. I have reproduced this issue numerous times today. My output setting are WASAPI exclusive; however, command line execution always under all circumstances ignores this and outputs to Windows 11 default audio output.

I also passsed the INIFILE command line paramater pointing to my local:

%APPDATA%\Roaming\MediaMonkey5\MediaMonkey.ini

This resulted in no change of behavior. MMW5 still ignored audio output setting and sent audio to Windows 11 default audio. When I click Stop followed by Play again, it then output audio to the correct device -- WASAPI exclusive.

OK, replicated with the WASAPI/exclusive mode to another device, thanks!

To be fixed as https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=20574

It seems like the /Play parameter in MMW5 ignores configured audio output settings and plays through the default Windows audio device.
