Mounted device sync

Absolute newbie here. My MM5 database is on Windows and I use MM WiFi to sync some playlists onto my Samsung S8.
Every three (?) weeks or so I'm getting a msg on my phone about mounted devices and syncing. I assume (!) that I've turned on an option to automatically check if there is new material in the DB that needs to be copied. I don't want this. I want to control my device syncs.
How do I turn this off?
