When will we see 64bit MM5
Just wondering why a new version of MM is 32bit?
Re: When will we see 64bit MM5
Because not all of our libraries (or 3rd party we're using) have 64bit support.

Re: When will we see 64bit MM5
To make it clear -- there will be a 64bit version, but since it isn't trivial, we decided to focus on the 32bit version atm and bring the 64bit version sometimes later.

Re: When will we see 64bit MM5
is there really much benefit in native 64-bit binaries??
It's not like MM needs the extra RAM

64bit MM (for Windows)
Are there plans for, or some thinking on a 64bit MM?
This may have been discussed or answered in another board/thread. Though I didn't find anything with search/advanced search.
Thanks in advance!

According to their (co)Owner there is a plan to migrate.
Where they do respond respectfully on this issue, they say that there would be minimal gains unless you had more than 2 million tracks.
It does impact community development of MM5 addons somewhat.
- the Developer needs to confine themselves to old 32bit tool sets and library modules
- any external application that tries to attach to the MM5 applications needs to a 32 bit application
- MM publish only a 32bit version their custom sql collation .dll, which impacts applications which just want to access the MM database
Want a dark skin for MM5? This is the one that works best for me .. elegant, compact & clear.

@Barry4679
Many thanks for the better search string and thread reference. I do understand the implications to 32bit add-ons, "calling clients" & the MM SQL dll. Not to discount WinAmp at the heart of MM which is 32bit-only as well.
I also found this thread x64 Support. Posted Nov/2010, last comment/reply was July/2016.
I am rather saddened such a good product seems to have locked-in obsolescence....
Cheers
