MMA2 Beta - SYNC Issue

Post by Linkinsoldier »

Hi,

I use MMA2 Beta to sync my whole music library BUT i am trying NOT to sync my comedy and audiobooks (which are also in the library). However using the settings below i still get my audiobooks (not comedy) synced... do you understand why?

Full information:
Comedy is genre: Comedy
Audiobook is type audiobook or genre audiobook

On the PC all unwanted synced files are somehow in the structure Audiobook but are not left alone during sync?

Thank you,
Stefan

It's likely that they're included in a different selection like Playlists. Selection is inclusive, so all files in selection will be Synced.

Thats very good advice - i did not know that, thank you.

However it looks like this was not the root cause. No Playlist include Audiobooks and i even redesigned them now to exclude audiobooks --> same issue.

When I open MMA2 they are listed there as audiobooks.

Are you saying that Audiobooks get added on Sync, or not removed on Sync?

What happens when you remove the files from the device, select 1 Playlist with just a couple files (no need to have Sync delete files this Sync), and then run Sync. Do you still get the Audiobooks back?

I am saying that some of my audiobooks have been synced / added to the Device, but not all of them. I would like to understand why :)

All of them are Genre Audiobook, but it looks like some off them are beeing transfered/added and some are not.
Even with the same Interpret - none in any playlist i would know of.
Some have ratings, but some don't ...doesnt make a difference.

edit: i think i found another difference: some are stored in the same folder as the music (on my network drive) and some are stored in a different folder... but either way... its not consistent (one Audiobook is stored with the others that are beeing synced/added and is still missing on my device)

Hi,
Best would be to Compress your MM5.DB, attach DL link to it in Support Ticket and then tell us us exactly what files are synced and what are missing, so that we can check Sync Settings for the device (Let us know which device profile have issue).

Something still picks up the wrong file, we should find what is in common.

Hi,
You can open support ticked and add DL link there.

We do not share download links to anyone, you can request a deletion also.

Please note that if bug is in MM4 (which I suspect), only thing I can suggest upgrade to MM5 as there is hundreds of sync fixes with MMA and MMA2+MM4 is just maintain basic sync functionality and all MMA sync issues and fixes are tested against MM5 with MM4 fixes are tested that MM4 is still able to sync.

Hi Stefan,

Just following up on loose ends. I didn't see a ticket from you, but my suspicion is that some of your Audiobook tracks are misclassified and therefore accidentally getting selected in your sync list.

The solution would be to go to do a Global Search for all tracks containing 'Audiobook', select them, click Properties, and then change the Type to 'Audiobook'. That'll prevent accidental selection when you select music items in the Sync list.

Hi rusty,

thank you for the feedback and sorry for not responding sooner. Last weeks have been a little crazy at my side.
Your suspision was right and changing the catogory was the solution:

Wrong (Category Music):

Correct (Category Audibook):

This fixed my sync issues!

Thanks for the help!

Hi,
If you want to make sure just add "Audiobook" in Genre. If Files already have Genre use ";" to add additional genre.
