are there custom reports on MM5? [#20581]

Post by paulmarkj »

Does MM5 have have custom reports like MM4?

I use the custom reports a lot and haven't upgraded because MM5 didn't have this feature (over a year ago). MM4 custom reports lets the user define the fields to be exported in a CSV.

eg:
"artist","album","title","lastplayed","rating"
"Adrian Belew","Pop Sided","The Ladder","23/04/2020 09:59:13"
"Neville Brothers","Red Hot and Blue","In the Still of the Night","02/12/2022 18:18:09"
etc

I don't want to upgrade yet in case I can't revert back!

MediaMonkey 5's build in report allows you to choose fields to export.

And it works well, as long as you remember to:
  • Select the files you want data exported for before you initiate the report, and
  • Choose CSV for the file type - the default file type for the report is HTML, for some reason.

Aaand ... I routinely export the whole library for processing in Excel.
I have found that sometimes MM exports about half of the list instead of the whole thing, so I have now taken to:
  • Selecting All Tracks from the media tree, and then
  • pressing F5 to ensure that MM refreshes that list,
before initiating the File Report.

Cheers
