music library database

When adding my music library to mmw, does mm create a new library or does it simply create an index to the existing library?
IE. if i have a existing 130 gig music library will mm duplicate that library to another 130 gig library or will it create a new much smaller index referring back to the existing 130 gig library. I don’t want 260 gig of music. Hope this makes sense.
