Delete from Computer -> should go to trash

Post by dtsig »

Along with a previous request to have a 'are you sure' on the delete from computer could there also be an option to send all 'deletes' of physical files to the trashbin.
It seems that I now have 150 fewer files as I *thought* i was set for delete from library .. NOT computer also. In the end it is my fault .. i should have looked a second time but there you go. With an option to 'remember selection' would make it dangerous again for those fool hardy enough not to want the warning ...

But if it was in the trash bin this would not really be an issue.

Not sure I understand. If you delete some tracks they are sent to the recycle bin.

Not when i accidentally deleted 100+ videos. I was adding artwork and shift-click shift-click then should have shift-enter but instead shift-delete (have done this several times but always caught the mistake). Hit return and POW they are no longer on the drive.

Shift+Delete is the command to delete files permanently without sending them to the Recycle Bin. Regular Delete will remove files to the Recycle Bin. MediaMonkey also shows a warning on Shift+Delete that the files will be permanently removed.

Yeah I just tried it both ways, having some files to clean up, and found that.

I would still like a 'ARE YOU SURE' on the shift-delete with a 'remember this' check box. It is a horrible thing to lose files like that .. and the warnings are *similar*.

As my ole granny used to say ... an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Usually while forcing cod liver oil down my throat :)

I don't see why a second warning is needed, if you miss the first you'll probably end up missing the second too.

Really seems like user error in this case. Can't force you to read, that's on you.

I used to be able to turn off the confirmation, but now it nags me whether i use SHIFT delete or just DELETE. I also don't have a "Don't ask me again" option. Bring it back please? Thanks
