auto playlist by rating with a dysfunction [#18306 ]
Hi, when MM5 created the media archive, I was asked how files with 4 stars should be treated (I think). I answered with "rate them all as 3,5 stars" (the media player I used before only had full stars and no half stars, so I wanted to make use of this feature right away).
Now each time I create an auto playlist, that should involve songs with >= 4 stars, it also includes songs with only 3,5 stars, even though it, logically speaking, shouldn't. Even songs that had 3 stars, and I manually changed to 3,5 stars would appear in the auto playlist of >= 4 stars ...
I guess the MM5 feature I mentioned in the beginning messed up the auto playlist logic...
Is there any way to correct this problem?

I'm unable to reproduce with 2502 (yet to be released). Can you tell us which Build (Help > About) of MediaMonkey 5 you're using and perhaps a screenshot showing the AutoPlaylist rules and the wrong results would be helpful: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=97733

Re: auto playlist by rating with a dysfunction
Thanks for the quick reply !
Well, somehow this page tells me
"You can’t post image, email or url links that are external to this domain. Please remove [the beginning of the link]" .
It doesn't work with Dropbox either. Don't know if it has to do with restrictions for new users of the forum (I'm new here)...
A note of the settings:
Search: Musik
Match All of the following criteria:
Rating >= 4 stars
Limit to: 50 files [is deactivated and doesn't affect the stars issue]
Selected by: Added (most recent)
Sort by: Added Z..A
Looks legit to me. I used auto playlists with at least 2 other media players before, so I already have some experience in setting this kind of playlist up.
Extra information: Also, there are songs with metadata
with japanese letters/signs,
symbols like " and ' and _
and I also have permanent "auto-organize files" active,
used interface language is German

The page mentions that new users can't post URL's. So you'll have to add spaces like http:// www. google.com/93984798

Can you select the 3.5 star files and re-apply the 3.5 star Rating. You may have to change it to 4 then back to 3.5 to have it actually change.

I've already tried a few times, but it doesn't change the outcome at all...
Re: auto playlist by rating with a dysfunction
You can try a File > Manage Database and rebuild the database.
Did you originally rate these files 3.5 yourself or did you use an Addon in MediaMonkey 4 to Rate the files?

Re: auto playlist by rating with a dysfunction
I originally used Banshee for Ubuntu Linux to rate the songs. I did this manually. Since I used MediaMonkey 4 for Windows (2 OSes in parallel on the same laptop) I have possibly rated a few songs with MM4. Since Banshee was my main media player and couldn't rate with half stars, I probably didn't use that feature with MM4.
So the 3,5 stars were added with the MM5 feature at the end of the day...

Please offer your database to Support: https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/
You can attach it if under 5MB, otherwise upload to a fileshare like Dropbox or OneDrive and enter the link to the fileshare in your Support Ticket.

Support ticket has been issued, by the way...
Re: auto playlist by rating with a dysfunction
Hi,
analyzing your DB and many songs have rating value 76 (from interval 0-100) and you are right that MM5 interpretes such a songs as 3.5 stars (while MM4 shows tham as 4 stars).
Fixed as https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=18306 for 5.0.2.2503
BTW: Which app you used to rate the tracks previously?

Thanks for taking care of this issue!
Previously I've used Banshee for Linux Ubuntu, which is discontinued for a few years now. There you could only rate in full stars and not half stars.

OK, so the fix is presented in 2503, thanks for reporting!
