Issue with track numbers after sync

Issue with track numbers after sync
Some of my albums have track numbers with a prefix to denote the disc#. 01- for example. Like so:
This all gets tagged fine in MMW using auto tag from filename using:
<Genre>\<Label>\<Skip> - <Album Artist> - <Album> - <Date>\<Track#> - <Artist> - <Title>
When I sync to MMA using
\Music\<Album Artist>\<Date> - <Album>\<Track#> - <Artist> - <Title>
I get this:
Any way to fix this? I also have a lot of tracks from vinyl with track numbers A, A1 etc which are coming across with track numbers of -1.

Re: Issue with track numbers after sync
You don't have <Disc#> in your filename format: \Music\<Album Artist>\<Date> - <Album>\<Track#> - <Artist> - <Title>
So maybe:
\Music\<Album Artist>\<Date> - <Album>\$If(<Disc#>),<Disc#:2>-,)<Track#> - <Artist> - <Title>
So maybe:
\Music\<Album Artist>\<Date> - <Album>\$If(<Disc#>),<Disc#:2>-,)<Track#> - <Artist> - <Title>

Re: Issue with track numbers after sync
Still no good.
Not entirely sure why I need disc# at all. Is there no way for MMA to display 01-01 as a track number as MMW does?

Re: Issue with track numbers after sync
Any more help with this? Is there no way for the track# field to display letters as it does in MMW? A1, B2 etc?
Re: Issue with track numbers after sync
I doubt it. It uses Disc# > Track# for sorting. I assume MMA only does the standard Track#.

Re: Issue with track numbers after sync
Hugely disappointing. I have over 7000 files, whole labels with vinyl track numbers. A, B etc. Why can't the app simply display the track# like the windows version?
I also never use disc numbers so why is that forced on us?

Re: Issue with track numbers after sync
Oh well Foobar does it perfectly so looks like I'll move to that.
Rather annoying as I've been a Gold member for 7 years and purchased the MMA Pro but if it can't handle letters in tracks, it's useless to me.

Feature Request (letters in track# field)
I have thousands of files from old vinyl labels. They are labelled A, A1, B etc. MMA doesn't allow this in the track# field, MMW does. Please change the track# for MMA so it is like the one in MMW and can handle letters etc. It would also be nice if the track# displayed leading zeroes. If I have a track in MMW listed as 01, after syncing it gets displayed as 1.
Issue with track numbers (alpha-numeric in MMW become numeric duplicated when transferring to MMA).
Hello.
Did this one ever get fixed?

I am busily digitising old vinyl LPs into MMW. Then "auto-tagging from web". This typically results, within MMW, in track numbers (for a double album) in the format A1, A2 . . . B1, B2 . . C1, C2 . . .D1, etc. Where A, B, C and D are the 'sides' of the two records. And 1, 2, 3 are the tracks on each side.
When I synch with MMA, this subtlety is completely lost and I end up with 4 lots of 'track 1', 4 of 'track 2' and so on (one from each side - A, B, C, D). This is a nuisance, as each LP will then *not* play the tracks in the right order, when played back in MMA.
Of course, I *can* go into each album in MMW and manually change this, so that the track numbering just goes, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 . . .N. But . . .a, that's a pain in the neck, and b. it seems a shame to lose valid information about which 'side' of the vinyl album is associated.
All thoughts and clues welcomed.
The versions I am using are MMW - 4.1.31.1919 and MMA - 1.4.2.0945
Cheers

Re: Issue with track numbers after sync
Hi,
I just checked and all of my LPs have A,B,C,D in Disk and 1,2,... and both in MM and in MMA they show normally.

Hi Peke. Thanks. Any ideas on how I can achieve the same? Best. Ian

Hello Peke,
sorry, but my experiences do not correspond to your description:
are letters and/or special characters in the fields Disc# or Track#,
a VINYL-ALBUM is not listed correctly in MMA under view "Album".
MMA can only generate a correct album-title-sequence from NUMBERS. I've tested it multiple times.
Correct entry of a VINYL-ALBUM in MMW:
VINYL ALBUM side A = Disc# 1 Track# 1,2,3 ...
VINYL ALBUM side B = Disc# 2 Track# 1,2,3 ...
...
Presentation afterwards in MMA:
101
102
103
201
202
203
...
What solution do you have?
Best regards

Hello Peke,
Your statement: "I was more thinking about" - NO COMMENT.
By the way: I use MMA-free Beta and synchronize with a USB cable.
(Filename MMW and MMA: Title - Artist - AlbumName.ext)
Please, put on a second song from the same album in MMW: Disc# B and Track#2
Sync and show the screenshot of the album on the phone under MMA.
Best regards
@martin.bohac ???
I think MMA uses NUMMERIC type variables to represent the contents of Disc# and Track#.

Re: Issue with track numbers after sync
Such changes in Disk/Track # will most likely not be added till MMA 2.0 gets out. I was talking about corrections in MM5. Sorry if I misunderstood something. I even added https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=17707 to better handle LPs and prepare things for MMA sync.Erwin Hanzl wrote: ↑Sun Mar 28, 2021 12:43 am Please, put on a second song from the same album in MMW: Disc# B and Track#2
