Auto switch output

Auto switch output
When I plug in my headphones the output doesn't automatically switch from my speakers to the headset. The listed output device changes in Windows and if I use windows media player it works fine, just not in MediaMonkey.
I'm using a Lenovo ThinkPad running Win10 Pro. The audio app is Realtek.

Re: Auto switch output
What Audio Device did you select in MediaMonkey (Configure the enabled Output Plug-in under Tools > Options > Output Plug-ins to see).

MediaMonkey WASAPI output File: out_WASAPI.dll
I'm running MediaMonkey version: 4.1.30.1914 (gold)

Re: Auto switch output
That's the Output Plugin, not the Audio Device which is set when you configure the Output Plugin.

Re: Auto switch output
it was the default device. I tried switching it to the speakers but it didn't help.
Re: Auto switch output
Tested with MediaMonkey 4.1.30 and switching in the Sound settings in windows by switching Choose your output device and this works for the WASAPI output plug-in, but not for the others (Tools > Options > Output Plug-ins).
With MediaMonkey 5 it works for all Output Plug-ins.
Do make sure that the Audio Device is set to Primary Sound Driver or Default Device in the Output Plug-in configuration.

Re: Auto switch output
A variant of this problem persists in 4.1.31.1919 under Windows 11. Windows automatically switches between my primary speakers and Bluetooth headphones when I turn the 'phones on and off, but if MM is actively playing, then it continues to output to the current device in complete disregard for the new device.
If I stop (not pause) and restart playback, it switches to the new default device but it will again remain bound to that device until playback is stopped again. If I turn off my headphones, then MM continues "playback" to the no-longer-present 'phones even after Windows has dutifully switched back to the speakers.
Both the DirectSound and WASAPI output plugins behave this way, configured for Primary Sound Driver and Default Device respectively.

Re: Auto switch output
This works better with MediaMonkey 5. Do make sure you set the audio device in the Output Plugin to primary or default.

Re: Auto switch output
But none of the plugins I rely on work in MM5.
Re: Auto switch output
What exact plugins you use? Maybe teher is already alternative.

Re: Auto switch output
I would dearly love to switch to MM5 so I can update the dated playlists on my iPhone 13, but my library is a mess of duplicate titles and clunky metadata that I'm cleaning up little by little, and I don't want to abandon the tools that I rely on until I have it under better control.
Specifically, the MM4 extensions I currently have installed are Advanced Duplicate Find and Fix, Clear Field, Discogs Tagger, Played Date and Counter, and RegExp Find and Replace. Truth be known I could probably survive without most of them, but ADF&F is one I use all the time and is an absolute must-have.
Re: Auto switch output
Hi,
I am sorry to say, but I am not sure how long we can support latest iOS versions on MM4
Unfortunately ADF&F is not our plugin so no way to tell if and when similar feature will be added in MM5.
