MM is unresponsive/fails when you switch Windows playback device

This forum is for reporting bugs in MediaMonkey for Windows 4. Note that version 4 is no longer actively maintained as it has been replaced by version 5.

MM is unresponsive/fails when you switch Windows playback device

Post by blmckin »

When MM4 for Windows is running, if you choose a different playback device in Windows, MM either continues to play the song with no volume or repeats endlessly a very short snippet of the song.

The only way to correct it is to close MM and re-open it.

This issue was reported in 2016 and the user was blown off with "update your audio driver" which is not a solution. This has happened to me over the years on multiple computers, all with up-to-date drivers. It's annoying and no other audio application has a problem when you switch playback devices.

This is clearly a MM bug on knowing it needs to switch, and then switching the Windows device it is sending audio to.

Thanks,
Bruce

Hi,
Can you try this with MM5 portable version as MM5 have improved output selection behavior?
