Your favorite music quiet tips

Post by Big_Berny »

Hi guys,
surely some of you have favorite artists/bands which are almost unknown but do great music. So share your music quiet tips! Also post the homepage of the band if there is one so we can listen to some free samples if available.

My first favourite is:

Band: The Cat Empire
Homepage: http://www.thecatempire.com (4 songs available)
Description: Well this band is really hard to describe, because they have a very special style. For the music sound a little bit like from cuba, where there also recorded their album "Two shoes". It's a mix of jazz, funk, rock, ska, latin. Although the band is from Australia.

I'm curious how you find them and surely I'm also waiting for your favourites! :D

after listening to car song i seem to understand why they are unknown.

it's not my thing 8) .

to find out new music you could try last.fm or pandora.

i don't think i have any unkown music. (i know all of it :D , maybe others don't)

if you want a tip : check out lisa germano (but she's rather well known i think)
poll: who heard of her before?

there is lots of live stuff over here:
http://kenedik.net/lisa/mp3/ -> hosted by fans i think.

You don't like it? "Sly" and "Hello" are my favourites of the demo songs.

Lisa Germano? I'll try it out! :D

i 'm using pandora more lately (instead of last.fm)

it really gives good advice
(ofcourse it's not really an open project, but it's nice)

i checked all samples, it's just not my kind of music.

here are some other good songs, you can download three.

this guy collects 'novelty songs', it's a pretty cool collection.

and 'da da da by trio' is a real nice song
Visitors are probably here because of their love of rather awful music, sometimes referred to politely as novelty or cheese music.
Or perhaps you are looking for that elusive track to use in a commercial production. Whatever your reasons, you are welcome to share in the delights of music that is memorable - sometimes not perhaps for the right reasons - but once heard, never forgotten.
8) enjoy.
