White screen-frozen?

Post by kookykrazee »

I have been updating the testing versions for quite a while. I have run into, again, similar issues that I have had, previously. I generally let it run, the first time, after an update, overnight since it takes a bit to scan the folders on the 3 different drives. Last night it basically became a white screen, with no way to restore, having to force close with task manager. Any ideas?

Check whether you are on version 2250.
They released a new version today which fixes a crash that happened with the version that they released on Monday.
Want a dark skin for MM5? This is the one that works best for me .. elegant, compact & clear.

I am trying that out now. It took an hour or so get through my 1 folder of about 7,500 video files. I have moved on to adding 2 main drives worth of audio and video files. This totals about 350k-400k files, possible 500k. So, this will take most of the day and evening, if I am lucky. It has run about another 90 minutes or so and is at about 24k, so am guessing 5% of the remaining files.

Is there a way to run a report about how long it takes to scan all the files, across multiple launches?

I have fun the newest version and ultimately about 600k files in scanning, I get the white screen of nothingness. I have to force close MM5 and start again.

Are you sure there aren't multiple instances of MediaMonkey using the same database?

Is this still an issue with 2259? If so, please capture in a debug log (step 4b) and attach the log to a Support Ticket: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... 30&t=86643

I have not run MM5 in a week or so as I got frustrated with the other crashing issues I have been having, lately. I will test it this weekend.

Try to capture this in a debug log and attach it to a Support Ticket. Keep an eye out on https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... 30&t=86639 as a new build may be released before you're ready to try.
