Symlinked folder is seen as a different folder

I have a folder Grabit Downloads. In the folder Xnews Downloads I created a windows directory symlink to Grabit Downloads. When importing files from Grabit Downloads and changing them, then importing them from Xnews Downloads, the files under Xnews\Downloads\Grabit Downloads don't have the same metadata as the files in Grabit Downloads, unless the metadata is saved in the file itself, but for example custom fields are not filled and for certain filetypes (like mkv) no information is imported as MediaMonkey can't save metadata to mkv files.
