As the subject says, I want to transfer my iTunes library, or more correctly the stats from it (import date, play counts, skip counts, last played etc)
As we know that information is not part if the tags, but actually in the iTunes DB.
What complicates the situation here is probably that on top of the iTunes->MM transition I'm also moving from Mac to Windows.
I'm wondering if I will have to first transition my mac-iTunes library to a Windows iTunes library (if its possible)
I have already got a complete copy of all my music, in a replicated folder structure on a SSD disk that has been imported into my MM library.
But of course, I have no playlists, no ratings, playstats etc.
So the situation is:
* I have a working iTunes library on my mac, with the original music files in a separate folder structure
* I have a working MM install on my Windows PC, with a copy of the music files and directory structure on a SSD disk
Transitioning from iTunes on Mac to MM on Windows

Re: Transitioning from iTunes on Mac to MM on Windows
Hi,
I am not sure it will be possible as just by moving files to new location you disrupt structure of Library, also Apple iTunes library from what I know and tested is completely different one and it is not movable. I have not seen that someone managed to move same library from one MAC to another and keep the statistics.
Have you tried first to do same thing by migrating from mac iTunes into iTunes on windows as if you managed to do that it is possible that MMW can import partial data on library init, but added date can't be transferred as MM uses own scan date to added date.

Re: Transitioning from iTunes on Mac to MM on Windows
OK so this seems to be going quite welll.
Copied the iTunes-folder from my mac (not containing any music files) and the .itl-file seems to be the key element, pasted that iTunes-folder on my PC under the default location after deleting what was already there (\Users\username\Music\iTunes)
When starting iTunes on the PC I needed to hold the "Shift" button while starting iTunes - that will allow me to open iTunes "fresh" and "Choose Library"
I then pointed it to that iTunes-folder and it all magically appeared, but of course as "dead files".
After trying to play one file and pointing iTunes to the correct new location I had to wait quite a while as iTunes tried to relocate the remaining files.
Next part is how I import my playcounts, added/played/skipped etc data from iTunes...
That's handled with this script, well the DateAdded at least. But I suspect this script can be modded to also do the same with more tags
