MediaMonkey scans Crashes on Win 8 [#11799]

Hi All,

Perhaps this is already flagged somewhere, tried to install and launch MediaMonkey_4.1.0.1692 but doesnt work for me on Windows 8.1 Asus Laptop. It crashes on startup, also after trying the 'Clean' Installation instructions. Re-installed my previous version (MediaMonkey_4.0.7.1511) that works fine.

Is this happening to more users, and is there a quick solution?

Crashes how? Whats the error message?

A debug log (step 4b) send to support is often helpful in these cases: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=69 You could also try 4.1.1.1693 from the Beta forum as it addresses a few problems with 4.1.

Can you please download, start http://www.norm-online.net/FindFullFile ... han255.php that will list all files with long filenames and give us the results?

Yes, got it. The files with long file name were the cause, got them removed and now it's resolved. Thanks for the support.
