Well, the reasoning was that MM didn't natively support aac/m4a formats back then. Since those formats are supported by MM now, it's especially bad advice.

Hi - I'm new here, bros. This was like one of the first topics I needed to bone up on. I was surprised about the not supporting mp4, and converting to mp3 (zoinks!) - then noticed the time stamp on the original post. Time to update that or ditch the sticky, eh dudes? Laters!
