Album titles sorting

Post by Scuttle »

How do I get MM to sort album titles correctly? Right now I have "A Hard Day's Night" as the first album under "A". in iTunes it is (correctly) sorted between "Handsome Girls, Live" with the Stones and "Heathen Chemistry" with Oasis

There's me thinking that "A" came before "H" in the alphabet :-? Obviously not in Apple World
MM does not remove prefixes for albums, only for artists.

Oh, the things I could tell you about collation... :)

If you look at just about any book, movie or music database, they follow rules about how to sort titles and names. The most common rule is that "small" words such as I, A, An and The are never sorted on. Having MM just...not sort like this seems kind of lazy.

Right now prefixes are only ignored for artist's names, see Options > Appearance.

Hopefully it will be extended to other fields soon:
