Is MediaMonkey open-source?

Post by Lazy-legs »

Hello,

This article lead me to believe that MediaMonkey is an open-source software. Well, is it?

Thank you!

Kind regards,

This article does not mention MediaMonkey.
Download my scripts at my own MediaMonkey fansite.
All the code for my website and scripts is safely backed up immediately and for free using Dropbox.

I would say the article is very misleading!

Indeed, this description of Media Moneky has nothing to do with the MM i know.
MM is not open source and doesn not allows you to listen to you music anywhere (using a web interface)
This is only possible using WebMonkey script but still the article is wrong

I think Ventis Media should contact these people to correct this. The MM licence is not an Open Source (GNU or otherwise) licence, as far as I'm aware. And I'm a Gold user. Perhaps the newly launched MM FAQ Support page could include licensing terms and conditions etc.
