Output Pugins

Post by alex30 »

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can give me some guidance regarding the best Output Plugin with regard solely to sound quality. I use a Yulong DAC and the Mediamonkey Direct Output Plugin at present but wonder if I am getting the best possible sound with that plugin.

Thanks, Alex

For me, Wave_Out plugin sounds better than DirectSound. (See this thread: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =1&t=34213 )
Even the old DirectSound from MM 2.5 sounds better than the new one. (See this thread: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 15#p204534 )

But I'm on XP, it may be different on Vista/Seven, and it also depends on your sound card / drivers...

You may also try ASIO Output plugin if your soundcard support it. ( http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =2&t=59853 )
For MP3s, you will notice a huge difference if you use MAD input plugin.

And MediaMonkey 4 comes with a WASAPI output plugin (Vista and up).
