MM 64bits?

Post by Dreadlau »

Hello

Is an 64bit version of Mediamonkey planned?

What would be the advantages and the inconveniences of an 64bit version?

Well as Delphi do not exist in x64 version yet they plan x64 version for some years see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embarcader ... imitations but Lazarus already have x64 version see here http://www.lazarus.freepascal.org/

Does the 32bit version work OK on 64bit Windows 7? I'm going to be getting a new laptop soon. Thanks!

I'm proof that it works :)

EDIT: Please Note that even WMP 12 (WMPlayer.EXE) is not started in x64 bit mode apron Windows Startup.

Don't get hung up on 64 bit architecture ..... for most current programs, 32 vs 64 bit makes no difference. There are those where there is a large increase in performance with 64bit but MediaMonkey isn't likely to to be one of them even with very large library sizes.
