Ah! That makes so much sense now. Long time user of Discogs but never looked into its inner workings.
Cheers.
Still more testing to be done before I report back.

Yes, it's quite complicated but at least it's well documented. While tagging my music, I've done as much testing as I can (and learned a lot about discogs) but it's never enough :)

Now i have tried my tests on another system and got the same messages with each try: "Oops, your session has expired. Please enter your password to continue".

I have been using the earlier version 1.7 for some time and all of a sudden I now get an error. I have had this error before, but it went away by itself.

Error #424 - Microsoft VBScript runtime error
Object Required: 'XMLSearchResults'
File "C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey\Scripts\DiscogsAutoTagWeb.vbs Line: 117, Column 9

I have installed Discogs Tagger 2.9 in hope that it may solve the problem, but no. I am unable to do any tagging. Can someone please help. What is this problem is there a work around. Why does it come and go.

Thanks in advance
Alan

Uninstall what? Uninstall MediaMonkey? or Discogs Auto Web Tagger. If you mean uninstall the web tagger how do I do that?

Uninstall Discogs Tagger, and reinstall. You should be able to do it from tools -> extensions.

Don't uninstall Mediamonkey :)

Thanks Let

I installed the latest version 3.2.2.1300 of MM over the top of my current installation. I then uninstalled as described and reinstalled and all seems to be working. Thank You very much for such a prompt response. :D

Seems like you are probably using an old version. I don't see that object on line 117. Check the latest script.

Have you tried instaling the latest version? Click here to install.

Hey Let,

I'm using your fantastic srcipt for a while now. Unfortunately the script stopped working today. I get the same error as AlanRackham. Yesterday everything was fine. I use the newest Version. I haven't changed anything. I also tested it on my laptop. Same error there. MM freezes for a short time and then sometimes the XML Search Error box comes up or sometimes the script box comes with the Discogs Logo and says "Cannot query the web site - Der Download für die angegebene Ressource ist gescheitert." (I'm using the german version of MM. So the message means: "Cannot query the web site - The download for the given ressource has failed.")

Maybe Discogs changed something in their API?

Any Ideas?

Oh snap! Sadly I can also verify that this doesn't work at the moment.
Error #424 - Microsoft VBScript runtime error

Just thought I'd help add to the sampling.
My MM Discog Auto Tag (2.9) has also stopped working as of today. I hadn't tried anytime before so I can't say when it stopped working, but it isn't today.
