I have a 3 iPods and a new Sony X Walkman. All appear to sync fine, but I note out that if I don't sync for a while (a few weeks to a few months) and only add a few podcasts to the MM library, MM3.2 (Windows 7) will often report it is removing content and then proceeds to sync hundreds or thousands of files. All that I see syncing are ones that should already be on the players. This applies to all my MP3 players.
Has anyone got any clues why this is happening?

Are you sure no changes have been made to your files on your PC since the last sync? Check the Timestamps of the files.

Absolutely sure. My music library changes very rarely, but I do add regular podcasts. When re-sync occurs, it is copying 99% music tracks.

Re: Re-synchronization changes
No changes to tracks at all? Fixing typos, updating album art, volume leveling/analyzation, clearing out fields, adding lyrics, etc?

Re: Re-synchronization changes
Maybe you use another program that updates the files automatically without your knowledge? Minilyrics, WMP, iTunes, etc...?

Re: Re-synchronization changes
Something else may be changing dates on files maybe. I have not used iTunes or WMP or anything else that looks at my music. I specifically stop aps like VLC from seeing my music files.
I just sync'd my iPod Nano 5G to update it with additional podcasts and MM copied 109 files to it, when only 40 were updated podcasts. It copied music tracks that should have been on there before. I sync music strictly on playlists and as I said, these change rarely. I had added one new track that would have been in one of the transferred (auto) playlists.
