How To Skin The TextArea Frame?

Post by CarlitoGil »

How to skin the TextArea frame?
I would like to skin the Comment field in the Properties window

I found this about textareas
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =9&t=16028
But it's a little unintelligible for me

Can you recommend a skin that has implemented this as a example?
Or be specific about the name and settings of the objects?

jade monkey, trucking monkey of mine and maybe an other one i did have images on the text area to use.
but it is even more simpler then adding an image to the object.
some of the text areas use images on the big theme image map so just changing those
to look like what you want will help on them.

:D

now to answer the other un mentioned question you might have about that other post of mine.

it is refering to the fact that some images need to be long ones. such as the selected image used to cover the row of the selected track. there you will need to make a long image. or a long coded image, with the width field of the code in the theme engine of that object you need the long image on.
just make it 5000 wide and instead of using the stretch you can use a smaller image and set it to tile. it will look better when tiled on them long images.

in that other post i did, the theme engine was not as good as it is now. so i had said to make the long image and use it. but with the improvements of the theme engine the above info about using tile'd images works and keeps smaller skin file sizes.

Could you send a screen shot of how the comment field in properties is supposed to look?
Because I just see the same gray one pixel line frame in every skin

Is it supposed to be skinned in the ScrollBox object?

By the way, I'm using Windows 7
for me it look like this

you talking around the outline of the text area? i think that is the group box you need to color or that it is not change able because its part of the program code. i get the same gray one line border on this text area here for the forum posts. it is i think caused by the code to put the text area in. but if the group box can change it then that will be the only way.

i had thought you wanted to change the white area to type on to a color'ed image. :)

Thanks Deity for screenshots

The white area is not a priority, white is OK for me
I tried changing the group box, but I don't think it is it.

I haven't seen any skin that's able to change that

The coders don't know how to implement the TextArea skin or is just not possible?
