Hi! I am a very new user of Media Monkey so please no flames if this question has already been asked:
Is there a way with MediaMonkey to edit out voices to get instrumentals from .wav files?
Your program is awesome and I will soon be happy to send in your modest registration fee.
Thanks in advance.

Removing Voices From Songs

hey man, there are several programs who can help you with this, but there is one thing that has to be mentioned regarding the topic:
you will always loose other sounds by editing out voices and you will never be able to erase every part of the voice.
For free software and tools on that topic see:

There is a couple of DSP plug-ins out that can do this thing - one of them is even included in MediaMonkey distribution. Go to Options\Player\DSP plug-ins, turn on DeFX and configure the Karaoke function as you need. However, as mentioned in the previous post, quality of the result is variable, for some songs it's very good, for some much worse - it depends on "where" the voice is - it's usually expected to be in the center of the stereo sound and thus most of plug-ins simply substract the center part from the full signal. On the other hand, there are some options in DeFX that allow you to configure how does it work.
