Rockbox Album Art

Just installed rockbox on my device. It's awesome, all kinds of options.

Unfortunately, it only accepts .bmp files for album art, and all of my album art is embedded into the mp3s themselves. Does anyone know of an album art extractor where you can choose the extracted file type, name and location?

Any help is appreciated.

Well my "Album Art Tagger" script can do exactly what you're after, but it doesn't support BMP, only JPG and PNG. I did try to handle BMPs after someone requested it but I failed miserably, sorry.

Hey trix, Thanks!. That's a great script. It's done half of what I need.

Now I just need to rename the files to .bmp

I saw one of the options you have is to rename all the .jpgs to folder.jpg.

Is their a way for me to edit this, so I can just leave it as [album].bmp?

renaming is a bad idea IMO, because then you only change the extension, not the file itself. it must be converted.

But take a look at the Rockbox wiki, they use MM and trixmoto's "Album Art Tagger" script in combination with Faststone Photo Resize (will work with IrfanView etc. too).
