Dr. Sol player special

Post by Dr.Sol »

Inspired by the John Player Special sponsored Lotus Formula 1 car, my intention was making a dark skin with golden details. I also added some reflexes and shadows on buttons and scrollbars, and made them glow when hovering the mouse pointer, created buttons with 3d-feeling and finally a harmonization of the icons.

Voila! A Dr Sol Player Special.

Hello Doc,

Basically, very easy on the eyes - even with continuous exposure.
After changing a few little things, I will use this skin.
Best regards

Hello Erwin,

Thank you for your valuable comments.

-I have adjusted the reflections to be a little less visible in the menu.

-Background of focused text in lists is changed to a dark field with a red glow in the middle, that also fixed the invisible track number.

-Then invisible icon to open the knots in the list is fixed.

-I leave the job to size up the system buttons in the upper right corner for now. I have to think if that feels ok and follows my intentions with the skin, but thank you anyway, it is not forgotten.

-About the upsizing of the icons, I don't know if it is possible? Are there other skins with bigger symbols? If so I can think about it. It is a very big job anyway.

I also made some small other changes. For example, the symbols in the taskbar is much nicer now.

-The color of the text is DDC774.

Hello Doc,

Thanks for your efforts. That happened very quickly.
I like that very much.
One more request: in "Now Playing" the active file should also be colored RED. This makes it easier to find.
Thanks also for the color code.

Dear Erwin and KeysDz,

Thank you for your improvement suggestions.

I totally agree with you about a more visible active file in now playing, but this is unfortunately not possible. It is due to a limitation in the skinning engine. The Media monkey developer theme needs to add some new functionality. As it is coded in the skinning engine now, the only thing that differs active file from the others is that the active file is shown in bold font style while all other are in regular font style. If that functionality could be added, I would change, I promise.

However, I'll soon release a newer version, making some other improvements. For example, it would be nicer if every second row in now playing list could have the same background color as in the selection list.

Dear rrfpacker

Thank you for liking the skin. I have a newer version with small enhancements ready to upload, but unfortunately the upload function don't run correctly on MM home page right now, so I guess we have to wait before it is available.

A new version (1.2.3) is released. :D

Finally the problem, that occurred when I tried upload the new version, was found. (Technically, it was in the upload function on MM home page that didn't work exactly as it could be expected. A case sensitivity bug! It didn't find a Install.ini-file since it was named install.ini. Not a big difference but obviously enough for computers. :x )

But, never the less: Enjoy the new version! 8)

Hi,
Sorry about that, I approved it.

Thus I am not sure if MM Find Updates will pickup your versioning numbers when users click on Find updates in MM extensions dialog.
