Error during creation of the main window

Post by kjohnson@nctv.com »

Long-time user now getting "Error during creation of the main window" on attempted launch and the launch aborts. Have uninstalled and reinstalled twice, the last time using Iolo's Revo Uninstaller to remove any leftovers and rebooting before reinstalling. No change at all. Using Windows 10, fully updated. Any suggestions?

You can try running as Administrator or go to the install folder and run the MediaMonkey (non-skinned).exe version.

I tried running as Administrator and mediamonkey(non-skinned).exe, to no effect. Thanks for the reply, though.

Then capture this in a debug log (step 4b) and attach the log to a Support Ticket: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... p?f=7&t=69

Ran debug version but no mediamonkey.elf file was created. It simply displays the error and aborts.

This error also was reported by bsomberg2 » Sat Feb 11, 2017 11:38 pm.

I am thinking about using Iolo's RevoUninstaller (again) to uninstall and scan to remove leftovers. Then I will back up the registry and use regedit to remove every reference to MediaMonkey in the registry before I reinstall. Does that sound reasonable? Thanks for your time.

Did you run DBGView and did it not capture info from MediaMonkey?

I read up on DBGView online and fear that it is well beyond my technical expertise.

Just download and run DBGView (It doesn't install). Then download and install and run MediaMonkey debug version. That's it. DBGView will capture what MediaMonkey is doing and once you encounter your problem you save the log in DBGView and attach that log to a Support Ticket.

I went through all of the steps to create a support ticket but it did not seem to work; i.e, I can't find it anywhere.
