I have a folder icon associated to my music directory and MediaMonkey does not see it (assigning icons to folders in XP makes them system folders). I am unable to realistically browse my music collection. If only there was an explorer like bar on the top or something.

I'm not sure what you mean. I myself changed the folder icon for my music folder and no problems were experienced.

This issue has been fixed in MediaMonkey 2.2 . You can try pre-release versions in the beta forum.
